Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of Sam Botts.
I started to photograph trains in 1982 after my Dad gave in and bought me my first camera at age 12 (a Kodak 110mm camera). I've been shooting them ever since (some 33 years so far).
I grew up in the Binghamton, NY area and eventually worked for all three Binghamton area railroads (NYS&W, Conrail, & D&H) before moving to the mid-west to continue my railroad career.
I hope you enjoy the images posted here. I enjoy the trips down memory lane, as a lot has changed in the last quarter century. To those who remember this time period I hope you to will enjoy them, and to those who don't, you can see a period of railroading which falls after the "golden age" and "transition era".
You may browse my collection of pictures via the menu located on the left hand side of the page. I hope you enjoy the collection and thanks for stopping by!
